Cybersecurity Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Consultant to join our Canada Digital Advisory team in Arup. This role will be responsible for expanding our local digital service offering in the key area of cybersecurity and supporting client relationship development.

Responsibilities- Communicate and liaise with clients, partners, and stakeholders, managing meetings and presentations;
- Develop and present industry best practices in cybersecurity to assess, manage, and mitigate risk, remediate impacts, and devise strategies;
- Support clients in developing, reviewing, and governing cybersecurity requirements on major infrastructure projects;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity standards, legislation, and changing landscapes;
- Support mentorship, cross-training, and colleague development in digital teams regarding cybersecurity topics and considerations;
- Participate in informing geography and regional leadership on cybersecurity resourcing requirements and hiring needs;
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or minimum 15 years of industry experience in senior roles, including leadership experience;
- Security certification such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent;
- Demonstrated experience in Rail & Transit Infrastructure projects;
- Familiarity with rail-related controls and systems;
- Experience in compliance with regional rail cyber legislation;
- Ability to lead independent work packages, effectively resource, delegate, and mentor staff;
- Ability to identify and document security gaps, suggest mitigation actions, and stay current on emerging security threats and technologies;
In Toronto, we have worked on notable projects, including ECWE, OnCorr, Alexandra Bridge, and VIA-HFR (High-Frequency Rail). These projects demonstrate our expertise in infrastructure protection and cybersecurity.
