Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Procure major/critical production commodities and materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot supplier problems and assist with resolution, maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.

- Conduct supplier surveillance and audits to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Provide inputs into procurement decisions, including make/buy, source selection, and supplier qualifications.
- Lead, direct, and mentor other Buyers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Perform buying function for raw materials, focusing on improving supplier quality and lowering costs.
- Negotiate and manage various suppliers performing services on a continuing basis, ensuring optimal pricing and delivery terms.
- Assist Manager with various projects as needed, providing support and expertise to drive business results.
- Assess plans and negotiate with key suppliers regarding costs, terms, and delivery schedules, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure all communications regarding material status are generated, presented, and distributed to appropriate personnel, maintaining transparency and accountability.
- Lead supplier issues resolutions, working with Program Manager, Supplier Quality, and other stakeholders to resolve supplier quality issues, identify sources for new products, and improve supplier performance.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, driving continuous improvement and innovation in procurement practices.
- Perform Supply Chain planning strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends.
- Support internal, customer, and external compliance audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Support and follow government purchasing regulations, ensuring compliance with all internal requirements.
- Coordinate risk assessments and execute risk management plans for moderate to high-risk procurements, ensuring business continuity and minimizing risk exposure.
- Perform sourcing/market research, staying up-to-date with market trends and supplier capabilities.
- Perform analysis of purchasing needs, including analysis of costs, to inform procurement decisions and drive business results.
- Forecast requirements, issue periodic reports on trends, and negotiate pricing, discounts, and contracts to optimize procurement outcomes.
Qualifications:
- A College diploma or University degree in a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of related experience in inventory systems, material management, and purchasing.
- Good understanding of procurement laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
