We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team at 14371356 CANADA INC. as a key member of our construction crew. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install drywall sheets, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Apply successive coats of compound, sanding seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation, including cutting and fitting drywall sheets
  • Measure, cut, and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles, creating decorative designs in the finish coat as required
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency for application
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, ensuring a level and plumb installation
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry, ensuring a smooth finish
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms as required
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with regular exposure to dust, noise, and physically demanding tasks. The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is essential.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in drywall installation and finishing
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physically demanding work environment
  • Regular exposure to dust and noise
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
