Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bar Operations Manager to join our team at The Hilltop. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for organizing the operations of our cocktail lounge or bar, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar, ensuring efficient service and high-quality drinks.
  • Clean and maintain the bar area, including washing glassware and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Advise on wine selection and provide recommendations on drink selections to enhance the guest experience.
  • Train staff on mixology techniques and ensure they are knowledgeable about our menu offerings.
  • Collect cash, credit/debit cards, or other payment for beverages and operate the cash register accurately.
  • Record and balance beverage sales, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Store beverage and food products, maintaining a clean and organized inventory system.
  • Order bar stock and maintain inventory and control of bar stock, ensuring we have the necessary supplies to meet guest demand.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
  • Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, maintaining a safe and responsible environment for our guests.
  • Prepare mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to the highest standard, ensuring consistency and quality in every drink.
  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons, ensuring accurate and timely service.
  • Resolve conflict situations in a professional and respectful manner, maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
Requirements
  • Bartender certification and/or mixology certification course.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
  • Positive attitude, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
