Job Summary

The City of Richmond is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead the development and implementation of strategic infrastructure plans and asset management initiatives. This role will oversee the planning and execution of capital projects, including infrastructure replacement and upgrades, and will be responsible for managing budgets and financial statements associated with the Capital program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic infrastructure plans and asset management initiatives
  • Oversee the planning and execution of capital projects, including infrastructure replacement and upgrades
  • Manage budgets and financial statements associated with the Capital program
  • Supervise and assign work to divisional staff, including Project Managers and Project Coordinators
  • Identify and implement strategies to deliver projects and prioritize work assignments when conflicting deadlines arise
  • Administer grant applications and represent the City at external committees
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering and project management, including design, construction, consultant administration, contract administration, and construction inspection
  • University degree in Civil Engineering with Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred
  • Experience in municipal or consulting engineering desirable
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials recommended
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the relevant professional association in British Columbia (EGBC, ASTTBC)
Working Conditions

Duties are mostly performed in an office environment, with some construction site visits and inspections. Some field work may be required.
