Refinery Operations IT Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Refinery Operations IT Manager to lead our team in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of software applications supporting refinery processes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the support and maintenance of software applications used in refinery operations, ensuring maximum availability and performance.
- Manage and mentor a team of outsourced application support specialists to ensure effective resolution of application issues.
- Collaborate with refinery operations, engineering teams, and IT vendors to understand application requirements and ensure they are met.
- Identify opportunities for process and application improvements, and implement solutions to enhance application performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with risk and compliance requirements, and manage budget and license fees for applications used across the refinery.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT or application support, with at least 3 years in a manager role.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in refinery operations, is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of refinery processes and software applications that support them.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a technical team, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
This role is typically based in an office environment, with two days of working at the corporate office and one day at the refinery in Burnaby.
