Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Professor to teach a course in software engineering. The successful candidate will have a strong background in professional software engineering practice and ethics, as well as experience working in a provincial organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a course in software engineering, emphasizing principles of professional practice and ethics, societal and environmental obligations of the software engineer.
  • Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, assignments, and exams.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback.
  • Participate in departmental and faculty meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a professional engineer in Canada.
  • Strong knowledge of ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements for practicing engineers in Canada.
  • Experience working in a provincial organization is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience teaching software engineering courses.
