About Us:

Southbridge Care Homes is a leading provider of quality long-term care services in London, ON.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Compassionate Care Specialist to join our team at our London location.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Summary:

The Compassionate Care Specialist will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our residents by enhancing the effective medical administration, stakeholder management, and risk management factors to maintain exceptional quality of practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Medication Administration: Coordinate with physicians, pharmacists, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and organized medication administration environment.
  • Document Management: Assist with documents management and ensure treatments are carried out as per Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Training and Development: Complete initial and annual medication administration training and sign off by the director of care.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and solve any problems related to the home or resident by collaborating with resident service manager.
  • Inventory Management: Check stocks of all drugs, order new required stocks, make data entry, and store all narcotics keys in a secure location.
  • Emergency Procedures: Assist with emergency procedures, enrollment-discharge process of residents, and check all requirements of Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Education: Appropriate degree or diploma related to Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or relevant studies. PSW Certificate preferred.
  • Experience: One year or more experience working as a Unregulated Care Provider in Long-term care home or Hospital Setting considered an asset.
  • Skills: Ability to work individually and as part of a team, prioritize tasks in order of urgency, excellent communication and comprehension skills, developed creative problem-solving skills, physically strong to lift up to 50 Lbs, and current CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not mandatory.
