About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at 1062747 BC Ltd. As a key member of our culinary operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
    • Hire food service staff and ensure they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties
  • Culinary Operations
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure efficient food preparation and service
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies and manage inventory levels
    • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation and ensure quality control standards are met
  • Financial Management
    • Prepare budget and cost estimates for food service operations
    • Monitor and control food costs and ensure profitability
  • Customer Service
    • Address customers' complaints or concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
    • Prepare and submit reports on food service operations
Additional Responsibilities
  • Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees
  • Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth
  • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations
  • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in food service operations
  • Knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Work Environment
  • 35 hours per week
  • Permanent position
