About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Environmental and Social Risk Specialist to join our Group Risk Management team in Toronto. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in supporting the management, preparation, enhancement, governance, and delivery of external ESG risk disclosures and internal ESG risk reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of ESG risk management strategies and initiatives
  • Liaise with internal risk management partners to review ESG-related risk management activities for inclusion in external ESG Risk reporting
  • Execute controls over ESG risk-related disclosures to meet increasing regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with Enterprise ESG Disclosure Policy and Control Framework
  • Prepare supported responses to questions and comments on E&S disclosures from key stakeholder groups (e.g. legal, finance and audit)
  • Perform gap analysis of compliance with ESG disclosure requirements
  • Research future developments in ESG-related disclosures to inform the prioritization of future enhancements to ESG practices and related disclosures
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, such as risk management, financial reporting, compliance, or sustainability
  • Finance or risk management certification/degree
  • Solid knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and/or compliance methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics effectively to external stakeholders and internal senior management and reviewers
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and timeliness with strong attention to details and excellent organizational skills
