Job Title: Journeyman Crane Operator

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Crane Operator to join our team at Propak Systems Ltd. in Airdrie, AB. As a Journeyman Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials, as well as driving the crane to the job site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials.
  • Drive the crane to the job site.
  • Rig the machine up (pin the boom and pendant cables and pull the hoist cable in preparation for operation).
  • Set up the machine for the lift (make it level and stable) using blocking and leveling materials.
  • Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
  • Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning and lubricating cranes.
  • Complete daily material transfers between the separate Propak locations as required by the 404 Yard.
  • Operate equipment at any of the Propak locations based on work load and requirements.
  • Ensure all internal BOL's are delivered, signed for and accurately completed.
  • Work closely with Administrative staff to ensure transfers and completed in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
  • Alberta Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract is required.
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of directly related work experience.
