Job Summary

Propak Systems Ltd. is seeking a skilled Journeyman Crane Operator / Class 1 Driver to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB. This is a night shift position on Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 5:00 pm – 3:00 am.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials.
  • Drive the crane to the job site.
  • Rig the machine up (pin the boom and pendant cables and pull the hoist cable in preparation for operation).
  • Set up the machine for the lift (make it level and stable) using blocking and leveling materials.
  • Service and operate travelling, fixed or climbing type hoisting equipment with a vertical mast or tower and a jib.
  • Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
  • Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning and lubricating cranes.
  • Complete daily material transfers between the separate Propak locations as required by the 404 Yard.
  • Operate equipment at any of the Propak locations based on work load and requirements.
  • Ensure all internal BOL's are delivered, signed for and accurately completed.
  • Work closely with Administrative staff to ensure transfers and completed in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
  • Alberta Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract is required.
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of directly related work experience.
