The salary for this position is estimated to be around $400,000 per year, based on industry standards and comparable positions in the Vancouver area.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Oncology Specialist to join our team at Vancouver General Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for directing care and surgical management of patients with pre-malignant and malignant disease.
Responsibilities will include assessing patients in clinic and in the hospital, developing multidisciplinary management plans, and performing surgery on appropriate candidates.
Participation in regular multidisciplinary tumor conferences is required, as well as participation in the Acute Care Surgery service at VGH, depending on the applicant's skill set and experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Completed a residency program in general surgery and fellowship in surgical oncology
- Eligible for licensure in the province of British Columbia
- Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) desired
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) mandatory
