About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Wellness Support Worker to join our team in Bella Bella, BC. As a member of our interdisciplinary community health team, you will provide a variety of day-to-day physical, emotional and social supports, advocacy, life skills assistance, information, resources and demonstrations to designated population groups in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a member of an interdisciplinary community health team.
- Provide a variety of day-to-day physical, emotional and social supports, advocacy, life skills assistance, information, resources and demonstrations to designated population groups in the community.
- Report back to interdisciplinary team on clients' progress and condition.
- Establish working relationships with various agencies.
- Co-facilitate support groups, cultural activities and public education.
About the Community
Bella Bella is a beautiful island community off the central coast of British Columbia, 690 km north of Vancouver. It is surrounded by a magical world of channels, inlets and old growth forest. It is home to salmon, orcas, humpbacks, bald eagles and the other denizens of the Pacific Northwest.
Qualifications
- Completion of a certificate in a Community Social Service or related program and two (2) years of recent, related experience working with designated population group or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- For worksites that require driving to various locations, Valid class V BC Driver's license.
