Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Host to join our team. As a Host, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests, ensuring seamless service delivery, and working collaboratively with our Service Manager to prepare and coordinate seating plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries, providing accurate and timely information to our guests.
  • Ensure all menus and wine lists are clean and tidy prior to the start of each shift, maintaining a high level of presentation and organization.
  • Review and take reservations accurately, ensuring seamless table management.
  • Present and maintain menus, providing guests with a clear understanding of our offerings.
  • Work with the Service Manager to prepare and coordinate seating plans, ensuring efficient table allocation.
  • Seat guests according to seating plan, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Communicate any special requests to Servers and Bussers, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Maximize the capacity of the dining room by assisting with table re-setting and other duties as needed.
  • Adhere to MLSE service standards and policies, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Assist Bussers, Servers, Bartenders, and Managers as needed, demonstrating a team-oriented approach.
  • Follow all MLSE Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications
  • Previous hosting experience in a high-volume restaurant is required, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service.
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Previous cash handling responsibilities are an asset, with a strong understanding of cash handling procedures.
  • Work well under pressure, balancing multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
