Job Title: Associate Professor of Health Equity

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Professor of Health Equity to join our faculty at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in health equity and a proven track record of excellence in teaching and mentoring.

Job Summary:

The Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) and Public Health Sciences (PHS) in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH) at the University of Toronto invite applications for a full-time tenure-stream faculty position in the area of Health Equity at the rank of Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in health equity, with a focus on reducing health inequities and promoting health equity in diverse populations.
  • Teach and mentor students in health equity, with a focus on developing the next generation of health equity leaders.
  • Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on securing external funding and publishing research in top-tier journals.
  • Contribute to the development of health equity policies and programs, with a focus on promoting health equity in diverse populations.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. or equivalent in a field related to health equity.
  • Strong research background in health equity, with a focus on reducing health inequities and promoting health equity in diverse populations.
  • Proven track record of excellence in teaching and mentoring, with a focus on developing the next generation of health equity leaders.
  • Strong publication record in top-tier journals, with a focus on health equity research.
  • Ability to secure external funding for research, with a focus on health equity research.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and promoting Indigenous health equity.
  • Experience working with Black communities and promoting Black health equity.
  • Experience developing and implementing health equity policies and programs.
  • Experience teaching and mentoring students in health equity.
