Employment Status/Type: Full-time, Seasonal (Nov-April)

JOB SYNOPSIS:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Resort Operations Manager, the Accommodation and Services Supervisor will oversee and maintain all aspects of accommodation and services at Whitewater Ski Resort in the absence of the Resort Operations Manager. This includes the suite and RV Sites for accommodations, and rental equipment, trail network, and information boards for services.

The Accommodation and Services Supervisor's primary role is to provide exceptional experience for guests. They will work in conjunction with the Resort Operations Manager to effectively and efficiently run the Accommodation and Services aspect of the resort, resulting in high-quality resort operations and customer service, fiscal responsibility, strong health and safety culture, and compliance with all government regulations.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Foster Whitewater's emergency response plan, health and safety plan, and safe work procedures.
  2. Champion a sustainable approach in daily operations.
  3. Manage Reservations and point person for Campspot & AirBnB bookings
  4. Work with and Support the janitor team with house cleaning in the suite when needed.
  5. Order and maintain inventories for all housekeeping products and other suite supplies
  6. Ensure maintenance issues are addressed and brought to Supervisors attention.
  7. Accountable for effective waste management (garbage/recycling/composting) and pest control
  8. Manage rental inventory: propane fire pits, hiking poles, Nordic equipment, snowshoe and avalanche rescue equipment
  9. Be knowledgeable on rental equipment set up (nordic, snow shoes etc) and assist guest with fittings
  10. Be knowledgeable in all Backcountry Education courses offered
  11. Create a welcoming, educational, and social environment for the backcountry community.
  12. Participate in training of staff.
  13. Act as Supervisor of the Day - oversee operations of Lodge and campground; inclusive of food and beverage, accommodation, equipment, guest service, risk management, and associated regulations.
  14. Other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:

  1. 1-2 years of leadership experience an asset.
  2. Kitchen experience an asset.
  3. Previous backcountry or remote lodge experience as an asset.
  4. Must have strong administrative capabilities including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications (word, excel, PowerPoint), POS systems and electronic and hard copy file management.
  5. Serving it Right
  6. Food safe 1 an asset

  4. Maintains a professional disposition in all guests and staff interactions, and ensures operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
  5. Conflict resolution skills.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to solve problems logically and make decisions in unique situations.
