Job Summary

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients/residents/clients in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise, training, and experience. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for practicing in accordance with the Licensed Practical Nurses Act of Manitoba, the CLPNM Standards of Practice, the CLPNM Code of Ethics, and the Scope of Practice Entry Level Competencies.

Responsibilities

The LPN is required to:

  • Obtain and maintain relevant competencies for the position as offered by PMH;
  • Practice in accordance with their level of scope of practice, expertise, training, and experience;
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients/residents/clients;
  • Recognize and fulfill their Professional responsibilities by practicing within the scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act, the approved College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) Scope of Practice and Entry-Level Competencies, provincial and federal legislation, and within the guidelines of professional ethics.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse with applicable regulatory body in the province of Manitoba;
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training as delineated in Prairie Mountain Health Policy PPG-00002 CPR Training;
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider (P) and Renewal (R);
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Provider and Recertification;
  • Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS);
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider and Renewal;
  • Six (6) months equivalent full-time experience in an active Intensive Care Unit or Coronary Care Unit as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the last three (3) years;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently;
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position;
  • Demonstrated communication skills;
  • Ability to respect and promote confidentiality;
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis;
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population;
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients, and within interdisciplinary teams;
  • Satisfactory employment record required.

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
