Medical Device Reprocessing Specialist

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our surgical team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nursing staff and physicians in the provision of patient care, including positioning patients, cleaning operating rooms, and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
- Support the operating room staff in the care of preoperative patients, including case cart management, picking cases, and stocking.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient operating room operations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of processes to improve patient safety and satisfaction.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment by fostering teamwork and cooperation among colleagues.
- Grade 12 education required.
- Current certificate from a recognized college-level Medical Device Reprocessing Course or CSA Medical Device Reprocessing Certification required.
- One year of experience in the OR, doing the OR support role required.
- Previous Central Sterilization and Reprocessing experience required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude for working with delicate and heavy equipment, ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Combination of in-class and apprenticeship hours preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
