Job Description

As a Credit Portfolio Management Associate at TD Securities, you will play a critical role in supporting our Credit team in the Toronto CIB. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Data Monitoring: Analyze and report on Credit Default Swaps (CDS) spreads, equity, bond, and CDS pricing for borrowers within the TDS Corporate Lending portfolio.
  • Bloomberg Research: Assist credit management coverage teams with charting CDS peer spreads, yields, and commodity price forecasts for inclusion in credit reviews.
  • Policy Tracking: Produce monthly reports on credit exposures against credit risk policy limits and flag relevant details to senior management.
  • Specialized Portfolio Tracking: Develop reporting to meet various business initiatives and requirements.
  • Management Reporting and Ad Hoc Analysis: Prepare informative quarterly decks for senior management to track portfolio trends, risk, and exposures.
  • Hedging and Portfolio Optimization Activities: Work with CIB Credit and the Global Credit Trading desk to execute CDS trades for credit protection.
  • Loan Capital Committee: Host LCC meetings, provide meeting minutes, and provide oversight/administration as secretary to the Loan Capital Committee.
  • Compliance and Audit: Manage and coordinate audit inquiries and requests on behalf of CIB Credit.
  • Process Improvements and Projects: Continuously work on process improvements and collaborate with technology/business innovation teams and other parts of the bank.

Successful candidates will possess:

Requirements
  • A highly motivated and proactive individual with exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of corporate banking credit products, credit hedging tools, and securitizations.
  • Experience with projects in a corporate setting, working groups, and special initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and work under pressure with tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing large raw data sets to drive reporting and create insights.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, model building, and writing VBA.
  • Understanding of relational databases, SQL, Access, and Alteryx.
  • Previous experience with Bloomberg and Capital IQ for research purposes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance.
  • CFA designation or pursuit of one.
  • 2-3+ years of experience at a Financial Institution.
