We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager/Agile Transformation Specialist to join our team at Affinity Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in establishing project delivery processes and templates, and supporting the setup of toolsets for Agile delivery for our Center of Excellence (CoE).
Key Responsibilities- Establish Agile Center of Excellence: Lead project to establish an Agile Center of Excellence (CoE) for our IT department, managing the scope of CoE and establishing processes and templates for the lifecycle of projects – intake, execution, and closure.
- Agile Transformation: Lead teams in the adoption and scaling of Disciplined Agile principles and practices, collaborating with stakeholders to create and execute a roadmap for agile transformation, and developing and implementing strategies to enhance team agility and effectiveness across various projects and departments.
- Agile Methodology Support: Provide hands-on support to teams and individuals in Disciplined Agile methodologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and culture, facilitating workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one support to build agile competencies within the team, and supporting team members in understanding their roles and responsibilities within a Disciplined Agile context.
- Process Improvement: Assess current processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization, implementing agile best practices and tailoring them to suit the team's needs and the project environment, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and learning within teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior management and key stakeholders within IT to align agile practices, communicating the benefits and value of Disciplined Agile approaches to the IT organization.
- Metrics and Reporting: Define and track metrics to measure the success of Agile adoption and team performance, providing regular updates and reports to senior management on the progress of agile initiatives, and using data-driven insights to guide improvements and decision-making processes.
- Support Setup of Agile Toolsets: Work closely with our IT PMO to establish Scrum, Kanban, Iterative, and Waterfall project templates for Azure DevOps – Azure Boards, support the development of Agile dashboard templates for Azure Boards, and support the collation of IT project information into programs and portfolios, and integration of Azure Boards with Service Now Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) tool.
- Community Building: Foster a supportive and collaborative agile community within our organization, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams and departments.
- Experience in implementing projects of large scale and complexity using standardized project management principles and methodologies.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in coaching and mentoring teams in agile methodologies, particularly Disciplined Agile.
- Experience in leading agile transformations within complex and dynamic environments.
- Strong background in software development or project management within an agile context.
- Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization – quickly establishing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple and complex dependencies and project tasks promptly.
- Experience in leading both agile and waterfall projects using agile and waterfall tools and methodologies.
- Experience in managing governance/steering committees (executive level) to obtain clarification on goals/ objectives, manage expectations, and provide expertise.
- Experience in leading and preparing key project deliverables such as the consolidation of requirements, review, and analysis of project options, business cases, project charters, and overall change management and transition plans.
- Experience in the PROSCI / ADKAR model.
- Experience facilitating communication across different projects and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working with retail/wholesale businesses.
- Experience working in public sector programs.
- Knowledge of the liquor industry.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps.
- Certified Disciplined Agile.
- Deep understanding of Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) and its application in various contexts.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and influence change in a diverse organizational environment.
- Proficiency in agile project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, ServiceNow SPM, etc.).
- Strong leadership and communication skills are required to guide teams through the program and its sub-projects, manage competing priorities and conflicts, foster consensus, facilitate change to people, processes, and tools, and drive delivery of assigned projects to ensure timeliness and quality within scope and budget.
