Athabasca Hotel is seeking a reliable Housekeeping Attendant to join our team in a rural area. The successful candidate will work 44 hours per week and have access to staff accommodation.

Job Overview

This permanent position requires a secondary school graduation certificate and 1 to less than 7 months of experience or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance:
    • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
    • Dust furniture and other surfaces to ensure a tidy appearance.
    • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture to remove dirt and dust.
    • Make beds and change sheets to provide a comfortable stay for guests.
  • Guest Services:
    • Distribute clean towels and toiletries as needed.
    • Stock linen closet to ensure adequate supplies.
    • Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances to maintain high standards of hygiene.
    • Clean and disinfect elevators to prevent the spread of germs.
    • Handle and report lost and found items to provide excellent customer service.
    • Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items to ensure their stay is enjoyable.
    • Provide basic information on facilities to assist guests with their needs.
    • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and safe environment.
    • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to keep the hotel looking its best.
    • Wash windows, walls and ceilings to ensure a sparkling clean appearance.
    • Address customers' complaints or concerns to resolve issues promptly.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and lifting heavy loads.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
