Senior Legal Counsel

Alstom, a global leader in the transportation industry, is seeking a seasoned legal professional to join its team as Senior Legal Counsel. Based in Toronto, Canada, this role will play a critical part in supporting the company's RER project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal guidance on contractual and commercial matters related to the RER project.
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate and draft contracts, ensuring alignment with Alstom's business objectives.
  • Manage and resolve complex legal disputes, leveraging expertise in international law and commercial litigation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes, providing informed advice to the business.

Requirements:

  • Law degree (BCL or LLB) and admission to the Quebec or Ontario Bar Association.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in international business law or a related field.
  • Proven track record of managing complex legal projects and developing effective risk management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
