About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Property Underwriter II to join our team at Heartland Farm Mutual Inc. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a challenging role in the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements according to established underwriting guidelines and company policies.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions for moderately complex underwriting problems, ensuring accurate and timely decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Respond to broker inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Apply sound underwriting judgment to rate and price complex commercial risks.
  • Participate in production calls with agents and brokerage offices to discuss underwriting strategies and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with company and industry underwriting policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide expert underwriting guidance and support to agents and brokers.
  • Develop and implement underwriting solutions for complex risks, ensuring accurate and timely decision-making.
  • Conduct individual commercial policy and portfolio audits to ensure compliance with company guidelines.
  • Assist in market research and product development activities to drive business growth and innovation.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in property and casualty insurance underwriting.
  • CIP and/or post-secondary education or university degree with partial completion of CIP designation is preferred.
  • FCIP or CRM is preferred.
