About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Services Specialist II to join our team at Covanta. As a key member of our Client Services department, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction and needs are met.
  • Build and maintain client profiles in our CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Assist clients in completing the Material Characterization Form (MCF) and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Record and track waste profile documents, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve client issues and exchange information.
  • Ensure accurate data entry in CRM, NSGG, DMS, and PeopleSoft systems.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our facilities' capabilities, services, and processes to effectively communicate with clients and offer tailored solutions.
  • Respond promptly to escalated issues from the Client Retention Specialist (CRS) and Sales Solutions Manager (SSM).
  • Maintain effective verbal and written communication with clients, SSMs, and CRSs.
  • Provide regular reports and analyses to clients.
  • Analyze client needs, identify potential issues, and provide solutions.
  • Respond promptly to client comments and resolve service complaints.
  • Assist in collecting past-due client accounts as needed.
  • Generate client proposals independently on behalf of the SSM and/or Director.
  • Perform commercial retention calls to recurring clients in accordance with prescribed scripts.
  • Document calls and enter data into the tracking system to provide key performance indicators (KPIs) for the client base.
  • Participate in client meetings and conferences.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience and a degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in supervision and internal sales.
  • Experience in the waste or recycling industry preferred.
  • Experience in supervising direct reports preferred.
  • RCRA, DOT, & HazCom training preferred.
  • Desire to have direct client contact and provide high-level customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and resolve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
