Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced restaurant general manager who can oversee the day-to-day operations of our kitchen and dining areas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing high-performing teams, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant and fast-paced team in a well-established neighbourhood pub.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food, train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, and hire food service staff.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, address customers' complaints or concerns, and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Team Management: Establish work schedules, supervise and check assembly of trays, supervise and check delivery of food trolleys, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Business Operations: Manage inventory, order supplies, and implement efficient systems to minimize waste and maximize profits.
  • Social Responsibility: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, youth employment, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.

Requirements

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to multitask, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Food safety certification and any other relevant certifications.
