Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Border Paving Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment to perform various tasks related to road construction and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment such as graders, pavers, and screeds to perform tasks such as grading, paving, and finishing.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks to ensure proper functioning.
  • Understand and follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Complete onboard and other logs to track equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Prepare accident reports and secure special attachments to equipment as needed.
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to stay in touch with team members.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment to minimize downtime.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) if required.
