Senior Manager, Investment Oversight Role at Scotiabank

About the Job

This role is a senior management position within Scotiabank's Canadian Asset Management arm.

The successful candidate will contribute to the oversight of all assets under management for Scotiabank's Canadian Asset Management arm as well as supporting oversight efforts for Scotiabank's international asset management companies.

You will work with a team of professionals, present results and findings to committees and senior executives, and ensure business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive a customer-focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction for the oversight of all investment products offered through 1832 Asset Management and its portfolio advisors.
  • Oversee the management of investment mandates and investment advisory agreements for all products and their portfolio advisors.
  • Conduct regular performance and analysis from both a compliance-to-mandate and product integrity perspective.
  • Manage all sub-advisors' relationships, including contract negotiation, service level commitments, fee discrepancy resolutions, and reporting needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Commerce, Finance, or Economics.
  • 10 years of experience in the same or similar field.
  • CFA required. CIPM/FRM would be an asset.
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course.
  • Previous experience within the Mutual Fund industry and oversight in particular.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines with minimal leadership oversight.
  • Experience presenting investment analysis to committees.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, based on industry standards and market conditions.
