At Valard, a leading utility contractor and part of the Quanta Group, we offer an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Vehicle Technician Trainee to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced mechanics in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing trucks, trailers, and construction equipment.

The role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on learning opportunities to develop skills required for obtaining a 310T Truck and Coach Technician license. As a trainee, you'll gain practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while contributing to the operational readiness of our fleet.

Maintenance and Repairs:

We're looking for someone with basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools. If you have experience in automotive or diesel maintenance, it's a plus

You'll assist in routine tasks such as oil changes, tire replacements, brake adjustments, and fluid top-ups. Additionally, you'll support the diagnosis and repair of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and air brakes under the supervision of certified mechanics.

Training and Development:

We're committed to your growth and development. You'll learn to use diagnostic tools, specialized equipment, and technical manuals. You'll also participate in in-house training and attend off-site trade school sessions required for apprenticeship progress.

Safety and Compliance:

Your safety is our top priority You'll ensure all work follows workplace health and safety guidelines and company policies. Additionally, you'll assist with inspections to ensure compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Record Keeping and Documentation:

You'll maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used. You'll also track work hours to meet apprenticeship program requirements.
