Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at TWD Technologies in Burlington, Ontario. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing various aspects of mechanical engineering, piping engineering, and design support.
Job SummaryThe Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will participate as a member of dynamic project teams with a wide range of tasks. This role will provide the opportunity to work in various industries, including Oil Sands, Refining, Chemical, and Power.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, perform, and check calculations and design using computer-aided and manual techniques.
- Provide assistance to the Department Manager in schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, activities, etc.
- Organize and plan jobs, write and review specifications, prepare and maintain schedules, develop and monitor estimates and manpower forecasts.
- Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs.
- Travel to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- P.Eng. is an asset.
- 5-10 years of experience in the field of specialization from graduation.
- Mechanical Engineer background specific knowledge of ASME B31.3, majority of work is piping.
- Experience in field setting, not just design work in the office.
- Experience of relevant NACE codes are a plus.
- Familiarity with the design of distribution-related electrical systems is considered an asset.
The successful candidate will work in an office environment and may be required to travel to project sites and other office locations. The physical demands of this role include sitting for extended periods, manual dexterity to use computer and peripherals, and standing and/or walking for extended periods.
