Teaching Opportunity at the BC Provincial School for the Deaf

We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our team at the BC Provincial School for the Deaf, a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school in partnership with South Slope Elementary and Burnaby South Secondary schools.

About the Role:

  • Teach Deaf Studies and ASL to students in a supportive and inclusive environment
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comprehensive education for students
  • Support students in developing their Deaf heritage and identity

Requirements:

  • Valid BC teaching certificate
  • Bachelor of Education Degree or academic equivalent
  • Master's degree or diploma in the education of the Deaf and hard of hearing or certification by the Canadian Association of Educators of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CAEDHH)
  • Fluency in sign (A.S.L.)
