About the Role:

We are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Designer to join our team at Tetra Tech. As an Electrical Designer, you will provide direct support to our Electrical Design Engineering Department. Your primary responsibilities will include performing electrical design, using drafting software, and technical calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts, elevation views, grounding, lighting, lightning, installation details drawings, and other project-specific drawings.
  • Perform electrical calculations and prepare material lists.
  • Develop complex and complete drawings using computerized drafting tools, such as AutoCAD and Microstation.
  • Assist junior designers in developing their drafting and design skills.
  • Exercise initiative in completing recurring assignments independently and applying judgment in determining applicable methods.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited institute program in Electrical Technology or Technician with OACETT Certification.
  • 4+ years of relevant design/drafting experience in consulting and/or Energy environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience in the renewable, transmission, and distribution field is considered a major asset.
  • Knowledge and working experience related to Canadian Electrical Code and Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset.
  • Working experience with a 3D design software is considered a major asset.
