Job Title: Senior UNIX/LINUX Developer

Nexus Systems Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior UNIX/LINUX Developer to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented developer with expertise in UNIX/LINUX systems to design, develop, and deliver complex applications with a focus on accuracy, performance, security, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with Sr. Management/Director to drive strategy to transform and modernize market risk management platforms using new technologies and tools.
  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of effective and quality solutions that resolve complex business problems.
  • Utilize diverse technologies to implement new systems or enhancements of existing implementations, ensuring sound integration with surrounding components.
  • Ensure delivery meets integrity, quality, performance, and reliability requirements by building automated testing and regression suites.
  • Coordinate infrastructure needs for requisitioning Unix and Windows Servers, Cloud-based infrastructure, databases, and assist with documentational requirements.
  • Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of strong development experience in Java, Spring Boot.
  • 5+ years' experience using Apache Struts hands-on.
  • 3+ years of experience in Python with knowledge of data frames and at least one Python web framework.
  • 10+ years of RDBMS experience, such as MS SQL.
  • 1+ years of working experience with Apache Tomcat.
  • Recent experience working with fluency on Linux environment with Linux command line and shell script.
  • Experience with DevOps and continuous delivery and deployment methodologies based on Bitbucket, Microsoft TFS, Jenkins.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with cloud-based applications and microservices (Azure or GCP) would be an asset.
  • Exposure to Apache Airflow would be an asset.
  • Market risk or financial risk experience is a nice-to-have.
Soft Skills:
  • Motivated individual to take up leadership responsibilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns, microservices architecture, and high-performance techniques.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
