Job Summary:

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a dedicated and supportive Educational Assistant 1 (EA1) to promote inclusive practices within our schools. As an EA1, you will work collaboratively with students, teachers, and other professionals to foster a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with diverse needs and abilities, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement educational programs, including adapted and specialized programming.
  • Provide documentation of student progress and performance, including behavioral and academic data.
  • Supervise and assist with student activities, including recess, lunch, and swim programs.
  • Administer student medication and provide support for students with medical needs.
  • Support students in community-based programs and facilitate transportation between education sites.
  • Assist students with daily living tasks, including eating and oral feeding.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
