About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our Investment Finance & Valuations Division in Toronto. As a key member of our Financial System & Workflows Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the development of our portfolio analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop comprehensive interactive dashboards and reporting using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and identify data and reporting objectives, and develop relevant capabilities.
  • Integrate data from various sources to create a unified view for analysis, and utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze data and generate insights.
  • Work with data engineers to ensure the availability and quality of data for analysis.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and recommend potential solutions that enhance analytics and reporting.
  • Effectively communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders, and prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for data analysis, and stay up-to-date with current industry trends and advancements in data analytics.
  • Lead data-focused projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, methodologies, transformation processes, business rules, and user guides.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor Data Analysts, providing guidance on best practices, methodologies, and tools for data analysis, as well as training and support for the team.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a data analyst in a financial management and investment support environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate, Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), or similar are considered an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerBI and other data visualization tools.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Alteryx, Python, R, or similar.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and management, and familiarity with Azure technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods and data visualization techniques.
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and techniques, and experience implementing predictive models.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and solve data errors within a data governance framework.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to effectively convey complex findings and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, with strong project management skills.
  • Ability to maintain an innovative mindset focused on delivering business value in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
