About the Role

Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician 2 to join our team in Canada. As a senior field service technician, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects in the power delivery and utility space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex field service operations that require strong technical skills, including troubleshooting and repair of power and distribution electrical equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with project stakeholders, including project scope, safety reviews, and security or environmental incidents.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced technicians, instructing them in proper and safe operation of equipment and tasks.
  • Maintain safe operating conditions of vehicles, tools, and equipment, including conducting detailed inventories and inspections to determine maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform all tasks associated with on-site repair of power and distribution transformers, including cutting new gaskets/O-rings, oil handling, internal inspections, lead cutting, crimping, and taping as needed.
  • Perform all tasks associated with on-site repair of high voltage electrical equipment, including re-gaskets/O-rings of GIS and HV breakers assembly, gas filling and recovery, inspections, and testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, Engineering, or technical vocational diploma, apprenticeship training combined with prior field service or equivalent related experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools and their functions.
  • Ideal five (5) - ten (10) years of related OEM, industrial, commercial, or utility experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
