Job Summary

Resolute Forest Products is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and carrying out complex payroll analyses to support payroll production activities for all unionized and non-unionized employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure payroll compliance with government, state, legislative, and fiscal regulations;
  • Coordinate payroll operational activities and ensure compliance with deadlines and delivery requests;
  • Provide support to payroll resources and other parties involved in employee payroll;
  • Control and analyze variances and inconsistencies related to payroll processing;
  • Perform payroll quality control for executive and management committee members;
  • Participate in the application and regular updating of payroll processes and procedures;
  • Ensure the implementation of security measures to safeguard personal data;
  • Coordinate the year-end process and ensure compliance with timelines;
  • Carry out, coordinate, and control various tests for improving payroll systems and interfaces;
  • Train payroll employees and assist in the transmission of payroll knowledge to the HRIS team;

Requirements

  • College diploma in administration or accounting;
  • Certified by the CPA: Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM);
  • At least six (6) years of relevant experience, including a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar position;
  • At least four (4) years of experience in a Payroll Technician position;
  • In-depth knowledge of the SAP system or experience with a large payroll system;
  • In-depth knowledge of American payroll expertise, Canadian payroll expertise is an asset;
