The Cashier Team Lead at The Home Depot Canada plays a pivotal role in supporting the Front End Supervisor in motivating front-end associates to adhere to company standards and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The ideal candidate will excel in coaching, training, and developing front-end and lot associates, ensuring seamless coverage through scheduling and providing the first level of escalation for customer issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Satisfaction: Lead by example in consistently demonstrating company values and promoting positive associate morale.
  2. Ensure sufficient checkouts are available by maintaining lines no longer than one at the register plus two more waiting in line.
  3. Walk the front-end from the customer's perspective daily, ensuring grand opening readiness, ad execution, and flyer readiness.
  4. Observe associates and work activity, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet business needs.
  5. Provide associates with the training, information, tools, coaching, guidance, encouragement, and recognition needed to meet expectations and/or take on higher levels of responsibility leading the front-end.
  6. Communicate goals, priorities, and directions from store leadership to associates.
  7. Ensure the parking lot is shoppable and free of debris.
  8. Engage backup cashiers as necessary and assign them to predetermined registers.
  9. Operate cash machines and train cashiers accordingly.
  10. Assist guards for cash collection. Maintain Safety, Security, and Shrink Mitigation:
  11. Follows all safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
  12. Follows processes on the front-end designed to mitigate shrink and protect assets, ensuring front-end associates do the same.

  2. Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.
  3. Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.

Minimum Education:

  1. High school Diploma or Equivalent

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  1. 1 to 2 years Retail or Cash experience an asset

Minimum Leadership Experience:

  1. Minimum 1 year leading people
