Senior Energy Modeler/Building Performance Analyst

About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team. As a Senior Energy Modeler/Building Performance Analyst, you'll be responsible for developing performance simulations to guide the design of high-performance buildings, deep energy retrofits, and existing building energy audits. You'll work closely with our team to maintain the highest standards of technical excellence and develop internal scripts, tools, and workflows to enhance the quality and efficiency of delivering building simulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop performance simulations to guide the design of high-performance buildings, deep energy retrofits, and existing building energy audits.
- Maintain the highest standards of technical excellence in the delivery of simulation services.
- Develop internal scripts, tools, and workflows to enhance the quality and efficiency of delivering building simulations.
- Produce enticing graphical representations of complex simulation data to enhance client-facing deliverables.
- Prepare energy modeling reports to fulfill the requirements of building code, incentive programs, and third-party certifications such as LEED and the Zero Carbon Building Standard.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, architecture, or building technology.
- 8+ years of experience delivering building performance analysis in support of high-performance building design.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB), ASHRAE 90.1, LEED, Toronto Green Standard, Vancouver Building By-Laws, BC Energy Step Code, and Zero Carbon Building Standard.
- Understanding of the principles of building science and HVAC systems and best practice approaches to their simulation.
- Interest in data management and representation via Excel.
