Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Generation Engineer to join our team at Birla Carbon Canada Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our power plant equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete and maintain station records, logs, and reports
  • Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunctions
  • Assist in the development of operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
  • Investigate problems to fix or make minor repairs
  • Issue work and test permits to electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel
  • Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctions and ensure plant systems are operating normally
  • Operate automated or computerized control systems
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance
  • Regulate water levels
  • Start up and shut down power plant equipment
Requirements
  • Stationary Engineer 3rd Class certification
  • Experience with compressors, condensers, distributed control systems (DCS), heat exchangers, high-pressure boilers, pumps, turbines, valves, and water and waste treatment utilities
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy environments
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
