Job Title: Third-Class Power Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Third-Class Power Engineer to join our team at Birla Carbon Canada Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining power plant equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility. This is a permanent position with a 42-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain power plant equipment, including compressors, condensers, heat exchangers, high-pressure boilers, pumps, turbines, and valves.
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect malfunctioning and ensure normal operation.
  • Complete and maintain station records, logs, and reports.
  • Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunction.
  • Assist in the development of operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Investigate problems to fix or make minor repairs.
  • Issue work and test permits to electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities.
Requirements:
  • Stationary Engineer 3rd Class certification.
  • Experience with power plant equipment and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
