Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part Time Thrift Store Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card, and debit transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and customer service areas.
  • Assist with receiving and processing donations, including sorting, pricing, and displaying merchandise.
  • Contribute to the achievement of sales targets by promoting products, suggesting sales, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve store goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the store.
Requirements
  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Minimum of three months of prior related experience in retail sales or customer service.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures and ability to operate a cash register.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 40 pounds.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working approximately 7.5 hours per week, generally on Saturdays. The successful candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
