Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of Corporate Services

The City of Spruce Grove is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of General Manager of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong understanding of corporate planning, financial management, and strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Corporate Services division, including finance, information systems, business services, and facilities and fleet management.
- Develop and implement policies and programs to ensure the effective management of municipal resources.
- Lead the development and implementation of the City's annual Corporate Plan.
- Provide financial strategic leadership and acumen to the municipality leadership table to maximize the City's financial performance.
- Represent the City to select governmental, professional organizations, and non-governmental agencies.
- 15-20 years of related experience, with a minimum of 15 years in progressive executive leadership roles.
- Significant administrative experience with a number of years in a senior level leadership position, preferably within a public-sector organization.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing.
- Successful completion of a Post-Secondary Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, or another related field.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team of high functioning individuals operating in a matrix, client facing operational environment.

- Politically Astute – knows and understands legislative and regulatory processes and has an intuitive ability to read the political implications of recommendations and actions; prepared to guide and mentor City leadership with solid and informed recommendations.
