Project Technologist Role Overview

Pinchin is seeking a skilled Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials team in our Tilbury office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting effective worker exposure and workplace monitoring, safety inspections, and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site investigations and collect and interpret various building material samples.
  • Conduct field work, including visits to sites and supervise remediation activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors, ensuring health, safety, and hygiene needs are addressed and met.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and providing recommendations to address hazardous building material concerns.
  • Inspect abatement contractors undertaking mould, asbestos, and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed.
  • Collect and analyze Phase Contract Microscope (PCM) asbestos air samples.
  • Business development to existing clients, focusing on building strong relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Manage time of projects effectively and efficiently, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.

Requirements

  • College diploma in Environmental, Construction, or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with building systems, including structure, envelope, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Knowledge of environmental and health and safety legislation and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Self-directed and mature, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and a personal vehicle required for site visits.
