Job Title: Technical Project Manager

SAGE Engineering Services Ltd. is a leading provider of engineering services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating technical projects from initiation to completion. This includes managing project timelines, scope, and budget, as well as ensuring alignment with project deliverables. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles and practices, as well as experience working in a regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and provide direction and support to project staff according to project requirements
  • Provide regular status updates to clients and SAGE on projects, both technical and financial
  • Review and make recommendations on design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related standards and regulations
  • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
  • Manage integration of technical activities and products
  • Suggest ways to improve project execution
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
  • Control expenditures within limitations of project budget, prepare interim and completion project reports
  • Prepare and submit project proposals, as well as follow up with clients to obtain purchase orders
  • Approve timesheets for assigned project staff
  • Conduct evaluations and provide feedback for assigned project staff
  • Actively seek new project work with clients
  • Supervise staff and provide day-to-day direction for assigned project teams
  • Support training of new staff on principles and applications
  • Support development of internal expertise in an assigned technical area

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Science or Engineering
  • 6+ years of related industry experience
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and engineering principles and practices
  • Strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of regulations (from Health Canada – cGMPs and from FDA – GMPs) applying to operations in the regulated industries
  • Proficient with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project, and AutoCAD
  • Team player and able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • P.Eng licensed applicants preferred
