Job Summary:

Stephenson's Rental Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Shop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Heavy Equipment Repair and Service mechanics. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our shop operations, while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Branch Manager to set and communicate goals, direction, and priorities in the development of a cohesive shop management program.
  • Relieve parts inventory on work orders and ensure the Parts room is managed when regular staff is unavailable.
  • Manage and summarize nightly productivity.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to all direct reports and ensure technical manuals are easily accessible for all mechanics.
  • Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management system.
  • Maximize internal efficiencies, improve equipment quality, improve department safety, and help ensure productivity requirements are met.
  • Provide excellent written and verbal communication to all staff, peers, senior management, and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and relevant government legislation.
  • Report any workplace hazards and help eliminate them to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to and promote our Company Safety Policies, including wearing all required PPE.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of mechanic/technical experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a Heavy Equipment mechanic shop environment.
  • Experience in a management or leadership role, preferably within heavy equipment, equipment rental, construction, or related industries.
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract is an asset.
