Job Summary:

The Near North District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Home Instruction Educator to join our team. As a Home Instruction Educator, you will play a vital role in providing educational support to students in public spaces such as libraries, the YMCA, or schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with diverse learning needs
  • Deliver instruction in functional literacy and numeracy skills, communication, social skill development, and daily living skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive education for all students
  • Utilize Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents to inform program planning and delivery
  • Provide support and accommodations for students with special education needs

Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
  • Valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Primary and Junior and/or Intermediate and Senior Qualifications
  • Special Education Specialist and/or Special Education part 1 or 2 qualifications considered assets

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse learner profiles
  • Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents
