About the Role

As a Senior Network Engineer at Robinhood, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our network infrastructure through automation, monitoring, and innovative deployments. You will collaborate with teams across security, corporate engineering, business automation, and external partners to guarantee secure, reliable access to our services and resources.

As a seasoned professional, you will apply your expertise in networking and automation to ensure that our infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient; while applying automation best practices to reduce toil and improve system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across the organization to identify opportunities for automation, driving operational efficiency.
  • Design and develop robust automated solutions, using tools such as Ansible, Python, Jinja, Terraform, device APIs, and GenAI.
  • Promptly triage and resolve issues with automated systems, minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, using automation to streamline the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Have a passion for automation and solving complex technical problems.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in networking-focused automation engineering and a proven track record of delivering successful solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of automation tools and technologies, including Git Actions, Ansible, Terraform, or the equivalent.
  • Be proficient in scripting/coding languages (Python, Go, Bash, etc) to automate complex tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of network hardware, including Cisco, Juniper, and Arista devices.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and services, such as BGP, OSPF, MC-LAG, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated automation services.
  • Have strong communication and partnership skills.
