About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Finance Director to join our team at The Chartered Professional Accountants Of Manitoba.

Job Summary:

The Senior Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, including budget planning, financial statement preparation, and financial forecasting. This role will also involve managing a team of finance staff and providing guidance on financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Budget Planning: Develop and implement annual budgets in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including variance analysis and financial forecasts.
• Financial Forecasting: Analyze financial data to provide accurate forecasts and projections.
• Team Management: Lead and manage a team of finance staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Financial Policy Development: Develop and implement strong financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.

Requirements:

• Relevant Degree: Possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar field.
• Professional Designation: Hold a Professional Accounting designation (CPA). A certificate in Municipal Administration would be an asset.
• Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in a financial management capacity, preferably in a municipal environment.
• Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills, with experience managing a variety of staff within a collective agreement framework.
• Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with significant experience preparing reports and correspondence.
