About the Role:

The Front Store Clerk will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting the Front Store Manager with day-to-day operations. This includes collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth customer experience and promoting the store throughout the neighbourhood.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet customers with a smile and maintain a warm, friendly attitude towards all customers.
- Handle telephone inquiries quickly and courteously, avoiding delays for in-store customers.
- Perform a variety of tasks, including working at the cash register, stocking shelves, and tidying the aisle.
- Pay attention to store security and follow store policy regarding shoplifters.
- Display products in the shop properly and arrange them for easy customer discovery.
- Develop product knowledge and learn about new products, including their locations and store layout.
- Request cash pick-ups when large sums of money are accumulated and anticipate requirements for change.
- Handle lottery and CBO tickets according to store procedures.
- Use tact and courtesy when dealing with difficult customers and refer them to the store manager if necessary.
- Inform the store manager of customer complaints, comments, and concerns regarding customer service, prices, merchandise, etc.

Requirements:

- Ability to handle cash with accuracy.
- Capacity to function for extended periods while standing.
- Some customer service and cashiering experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with customers.
- Multitasking and ability to manage multiple clients at once.
- Merchandising and retail experience are assets.
- Mature and cooperative attitude, with a professional image including a name tag and proper grooming.
